Thyme - A Modern Kitchen Timer App Reviews

Just the thing for multiple dishes

Love it!! Makes it so easy to keep everything organized especially when you are not good at multi-tasking

Cute

Under its current auspices, this app is cute. But I am sure other people view it as lacking to meet their needs. Under its current configuration, it does not account for use of addl oven racks or a separate broiler. And for people who use a 48" or 60" wide range, a setup for six burners w/ two ovens that have multi racks, plus a griddle, grill, and/or braising top is necessary. Plus options to control colors, sounds, and volume are needed. Right now we use multiple hand-set timers, but an app that provided timers for all of the above would be convenient for use with our Wolf 60". Moreover, Siri integration would help automate activities. In other words, this app needs a setup feature so users can config the app for THEIR stove, not the stove of the apps creator.

Awesome...

Best by far with four separate clearly defined timers based on common stove tops. I use it with my grill. It even makes my Pebble smart watch vibrate! Suggestion: Add oven, broiler and/or microwave timer.

Dec 7 update crashes

My Thyme app updated the other day. Now it just crashes. Hit the open, or icon and it shows the first screen for a split second then closes. Tried deleting and reinstalling but same fail. iPhone 6 with latest iOS updates

Ok but could be improved

Wish there was an easier way to cancel one or more of the timers and wish I could use the keypad to enter the time.

New update crashes on my iPhone 5c

I have been using this app all the time, five star performance! However, with the latest update it crashes upon opening. Please fix it!

Best App Ever!

This is what technologies should be about. Making life easier/ better. If your consider yourself a cook and you do not own this app then you sir/maam are no cook!

Very useful on the Apple watch

I have used the standard timer on my Apple Watch and love it but it is limited: one can only have 1 timer running at a time. This app allows having multiple timers running simultaneously. I just hope the app on the watch is updated soon to allow using the app without having the phone nearby.

Update glitch

I tend to cook more than one thing at a time, so I loved this app before the latest update! Now it doesnt work! When I open it, it immediately goes back to my home screen! Update has made it useless!!

Dancing Herbie doesnt work

Interesting app, but it is stuck on the dancing Herbie insisting I turn on every shape and color of notifications there are, which I have. Still, the dancing Herbie dances. Clicking on the App Support link takes me to a useless twitter feed. Hmmm.

What a waste

You can only get by the stupid little herby thing if you tsp a burner real fast. It wants you to turn on every notification you can then still wants more. Just does not work.

Simple and great

I like this app a lot. It doesnt get in the way and does exactly what it needs to and nothing more.I use the app less now that I can set the iOS built in timer by talking to Siri. Not sure if its possible to get this app to respond to voice commands but that would make this perfect!

Hey... Wheres the DING!!! When I Need it??

I like The design and functionality of this app. What I really, really dislike is the fact that The DING/tone/alarm/chime sound is inaudible when the timer is up!! Hey, I dont cook in a monastery where silence is golden. My kitchen is loud and busy therefore I need a very loud tone when one of the timers goes to zero. Come on developers, is there anyway you can make the chime louder then it is currently? If not, Ill have to discontinue use of Thyme. Thanks. J

Frustrated/Doesnt work

Upon opening the app, it continues to prompt me to turn on the notifications. All notifications are on but still doesnt work. Oh well, thyme to get rid of this app!!!

Dont mess with success

I love this app, and appreciate its simplicity. Its a lifesaver at family events: the visuals are instantly understandable, and I can let go of the stress of remembering what needs to come off the heat, or get turned or basted, when. I use it instead of the iClock on my phone, despite the convenience of Siri, because the dot moving around the circle is (again) easier to grasp in a split second than numbers ticking down. The multiple timers all on the same screen are useful in many other settings: timing henna applications for 2 people, tracking time to another coat of paint AND minutes til the second half begins. A great app. And, somehow, I seem to have missed the dancing Herbie??!!

Nice interface but no options

Simple intuitive interface but no option to change the alarm or the alarms duration. Unless you are holding the iPhone there is no way to detect that it has "dinged".
